Old School Gamer
Blessed Are the Button Mashers
A vintage photo meets a vintage handheld.
Some kids carried rosaries. I carried a Game Boy.
This photo was just sitting there at Goodwill, stoic, sepia, suspiciously silent. Until I gave her a little resurrection. A dab of acrylic, a sacrilegious dose of nostalgia, and boom: Sister Mary Pixel is now ready to crush Tetris lines between confessions.
She lived in 1927. She plays like it’s 1997.
Old School Gamer is a small rebellion against time, formality, and the idea that vintage things must stay reverent. Because who says history can’t have high scores?
Here’s a time-lapse showing how I made it. If 8-bit music isn’t your jam, I suggest you hit mute.
